Dwight is a lifelong resident of the Valley City area.  He grew up with four brothers on a grain and cattle farm south of Valley City.  He attended Green Country School and graduated from VCHS in 1975.  Dwight has been involved in agriculture and small business his entire life.

Dwight and his wife Robbin currently operate a Custom Farming business serving the area farmers.  Dwight has served as a director for Farm Bureau as well as Deacon and Trustee for their church.

In 2007, Dwight wrote On Our Way Home about the tragic loss of a young son, Matthew, killed by a drunken school bus driver in 1987 and is about their family’s story of hope in the face of tragic loss and offers guidance for those seeking consolation or the knowledge to console a loved one.

Dwight is also a motivational speaker and is currently serving his second term on the National Commission on Evangelism; this enables him to travel and conduct training seminars across the United States.  He has also been involved with volunteer church-building projects.

Dwight and Robbin have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. In his spare time, Dwight likes hunting and being outdoors. He is also a private pilot and enjoys flying when his schedule permits.
